great fixture for price September 7, 2010
Reviewer: Matthew Ross from Coronado, CA United States
great bright fixture for the price, legs are pretty cheap and stick but they work. things have been growing like crazy in my 10 gallon nano although beware... while acclimating the tank to the new light the light was left on for 13 hours instead of its scheduled 5 and unfortunately i lost one of my favourite sps frags. it also damaged my other sps but they have since recovered and love the new light.
ballast is a tad warm but only after about 8 hours so right at shut off for the halides...
overall a great deal! buy it while it lasts.

i have had good luck with this light August 22, 2010
Reviewer: Justin Kiser from crestline, OH United States
I have had 2 of these lights for about 3 years now. I have had no problem. The only real complaint i have is its way to hard to find the actinic bulbs. All of mine burnt out after a year. I replaced the halides with 20k. I recomend that for anyone. It really looks good. Other than that i keep a fan on my ballasts at all times just to be safe. No problems as of yet(knock on wood)

updated modification August 13, 2010
Reviewer: Dan Roos from Redwood City, CA United States
i bought this for my refugium  a while back along with a 6700k bulb. it no longer has 2 switches, it only has 1 switch for the t5. the fan and the hole open sucked. the hole opening is a bunch of small holes the restrict the fan of being 100% of use. i modified the hole buy cutting a square with a rotozip and adding a bigger AC not dc fan with rubber under it to reduce any vibration if there was any. i supported it withe the metal extenders that extend the legs. this modification keeps this fixture over 100% cooler and in the long run will increases ballast and light bulb life. the ballast may have to be replaced eventually.any questions my email is Stripergod@hotmail.com
Don't cut the very middle of the light! there is a inter lock connector that holds the light together

Bad Ballast August 2, 2010
Reviewer: Dean Ladd from Clearwater, KS United States
Would have gave 5 stars because I was happy with my purchase but after 3 days over my tank the MH ballast quit. Now I have no MH light just T5's. Waiting for response about the warranty for this defective item. If ballast is replaced I will give this item 5 stars.

Odyssea Metal Halide Pendant 150W with T5 August 2, 2010
Reviewer: robert from san jose, CA United States
Maybe -

The legs are a little flimsy when extended.
The ballast works, but runs hot.  Mine failed and I had to purchase another (upgraded ballast - 175W) from aquatraders which is much better and runs cool.

The included bulb is a little yellow for my tastes - I prefer the 20K.

The fixture itself is fine and a good value, even factoring in the replacement ballast - so I'm not unhappy.
