the light works good but the actual halide bulb is not rated to what it says it is. it came with a 15k bulb but acts as if its a 10k it has no blue tint to it at all it has a yellow tint to it but i guess thats what you get for the price.

Excellant so far i've heard nothing but dangerous things come from this light, however i'm here to say i;ve owned the light for 2 yrs now and it has been excellant for my use i'm actually thinking about getting another one thank you Aqua Traders for saving me hundreds on a different light sincerely, Kalen in Bradenton FL.

Overall I am very pleased with this light. It has worked just fine for the two months I have owned it so far. It is extremely bright and does its job. However, you can tell you get what you pay for as the fixture seems cheaply made, but for the price you cant beat it.

never had any problems, nor did my electric bill show it. at 5cents kw hours and only 450 wats that is equal to about .40cents a day to run, that is no hit on the electric bill , thats a blessing when you have thousands of bucks worth of coral

Great buy for the price September 3, 2009

I have run this lighting system for over a year without any issues.  I did replace the HQI bulb with a different light rated bulb 10,000k of a higher quality, after running the system for 5-6 months without issue.  Be prepared for the hit on the electricity bill due to the Wattage.
